free shuttle bus in Ras Al Khaimah, Al Hamra

if you ask around, many may tell you there is no longer any free shuttle bus in Al Hamra.  They are wrong, at least until now.

basically al hamra to manar mall route is still relatively active but the other routes due to lack of passengers the bus driver may not religiously drive around for nothing. So once you determine the time, you should call al hamra mall to inform them that you are waiting at where about half hour before you expect the shuttle to arrive.

driving attitude

one thing here is that people drive rather fast.  but speed isn't the issue. here they drive with no conservation. so when one thing goes wrong, it's the end.

and the worse is...  whenever a near death experience occurred, they will just curse the other party without realizing if they just drive a little more gentle, preserve nothing like that would have happened.

Surroundings

There are really nothing much here except

Sand and Heat

but the un-disturbed sand pattern is beautiful

then out of the flat land surface out some buildings after some driving

if you take a closer look from a specific angle, it actually looks nice and green

most of the times, it is the man made structured that made this place beautiful

However, such beauty is only maintained within a specific corner only.

Flight to Al-Hamra, Ras Al Khaimah

There are 2 main airlines Qatar & Emirates.

Emirates reaches Dubai which is 1 hour drive away from Al Hamra, Ras Al Khaimah.
Qatar reaches Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) airport directly.

The 1st trick is RAK airport is also about half hour away from Al Hamra.
The 2nd trick is although Qatar has flights to RAK but it stops over Qatar or Dubai.  The waiting time during flight transfer is usually more than 5 hours.

So unless you have special plan in Qatar or Dubai airport, then one should always take direct flight to Dubai and then take a taxi to Al Hamra.

Taxi could be found at the left end of the airport.  There is no need to buy any coupon.  Just ask around, walk out and hop on a taxi.  Most drivers are genuinely honest but not everyone know the place you are going.  So do some homework, write down a few more names or landmark of the places you are going.

Taxi fare costed me around AED 200.  Charges are by meter so there is no negotiation needed.
